Job Description:

• Transcribe laboratory dictations, pathology reports, histopathology findings, microbiology reports, and diagnostic summaries.
• Edit and proofread laboratory reports for accuracy, grammar, and correct medical terminology.
• Ensure reports follow approved laboratory formats and templates.
• Ensure timely completion of transcription within defined turnaround times (TAT).
• Ensure correct use of laboratory terminology, units, reference ranges, and abbreviations.
• Verify patient identifiers, dates, and physician details for accuracy.
• Flag discrepancies, unclear dictations, or missing information for clarification.
• Upload, edit, and manage reports in the Laboratory Information System (LIS) / Hospital Management Information System (HMIS).
• Maintain document version control and proper indexing.
• Support laboratory accreditation and audit documentation requirements (e.g., ISO 15189).
• Maintain strict patient confidentiality in accordance with hospital policy and data protection regulations.
• Coordinate with pathologists, laboratory consultants, and technologists for timely report finalization.
• Support audits, quality reviews, and accreditation requirements related to medical documentation.
• Maintain appropriates records and statistics, monitor KPIs and make measures to improve the KPIs.
• Perform any other task assigned by the immediate supervisor that is commensurate with your knowledge and skills.
