Role Overview:

The Fellowship Training Program in Palliative Medicine is designed to equip the appointee with skills needed to deal with end of life care as well as complex symptom management in patients with advanced disease. The appointee is also expected to further develop their General Internal and Acute medicine skills. This is a CPSP approved fellowship program. The Program is of two years duration with an emphasis on training in palliative medicine both in the inpatient and outpatient settings.
A significant emphasis will be on developing excellent communication skills. In addition to training in the discipline of palliative medicine, fellows are expected to participate in the education of medical students in physical diagnosis, and in education of residents and electives who rotate through the palliative medicine service.
At the end of two years, the fellow will be expected to have met all the requirements of progressing to Senior Instructor in Palliative Medicine as per the SKMCH&RC job structure.

Eligibility / Qualification Required:

• Full FCPS in Internal Medicine.
