Eligibility / Qualification Required:

Batterjee Medical College is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support teaching, research, and laboratory activities within the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) Program. The successful candidate will prepare laboratory sessions, maintain laboratory equipment and supplies, ensure compliance with safety standards, and provide technical support to faculty and students during practical classes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare laboratory equipment, chemicals, reagents, and teaching materials for practical sessions.
  • Support faculty and students during pharmaceutical, pharmacology, pharmaceutics, medicinal chemistry, pharmaceutical microbiology, and pharmaceutical analysis laboratories.
  • Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory equipment according to SOPs.
  • Ensure laboratories comply with health, safety, chemical handling, and waste disposal regulations.
  • Monitor laboratory inventory, consumables, and chemical stock levels.
  • Maintain laboratory records, equipment logs, maintenance schedules, and inventory documentation.
  • Ensure laboratory facilities remain clean, organized, and ready for teaching activities.
  • Participate in laboratory safety inspections and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in preparing reports and documentation required by Academic Affairs and Quality Assurance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Laboratory Sciences, Medical Laboratory Sciences, or an equivalent field.

Experience

  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in an academic, pharmaceutical, research, or clinical laboratory.
  • Experience supporting laboratory teaching in higher education is preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Knowledge of laboratory equipment, pharmaceutical laboratory techniques, and SOPs.
  • Understanding of laboratory safety, chemical handling, and infection control procedures.
  • Strong organizational and inventory management skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in English; Arabic is an advantage.
