Eligibility / Qualification Required:
Batterjee Medical College is seeking a qualified and motivated Faculty Member in Respiratory Therapy to join the Respiratory Therapy Program. The successful candidate will contribute to academic excellence through high-quality teaching, clinical education, research, and student mentorship while preparing future respiratory therapists to deliver safe, evidence-based patient care across diverse healthcare settings.

Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Clinical Education
- Deliver undergraduate courses through lectures, laboratory sessions, tutorials, simulation, and clinical teaching using student-centered learning approaches.
- Supervise students during clinical rotations in hospitals and healthcare facilities.
- Teach core Respiratory Therapy subjects, including cardiopulmonary assessment, mechanical ventilation, airway management, pulmonary diagnostics, critical care, emergency respiratory care, and evidence-based clinical practice.
- Utilize Blackboard (LMS), ExamSoft, simulation technology, and other digital learning tools effectively.
- Develop course materials, assessments, and examinations aligned with program learning outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, clinical evaluations, and academic documentation.
Student Support & Development
- Provide academic advising and mentorship to Respiratory Therapy students.
- Foster students' clinical reasoning, critical thinking, professionalism, patient safety, and ethical practice.
- Monitor student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback to support academic success.
Research & Scholarly Activities
- Conduct research in Respiratory Therapy, pulmonary medicine, critical care, or related healthcare disciplines.
- Publish scholarly work in peer-reviewed journals and present research at national and international conferences.
- Participate in research collaborations and contribute to the college's research culture.
- Support curriculum review and continuous academic improvement through evidence-based practices.
Academic Quality & Institutional Service
- Participate in departmental meetings, academic committees, accreditation activities, and quality assurance initiatives.
- Prepare course reports, annual program reports, and required academic documentation.
- Contribute to curriculum development and continuous program enhancement.
- Ensure compliance with institutional policies, accreditation standards, and academic regulations.
Community Engagement
- Participate in community outreach initiatives focused on respiratory health, smoking cessation, pulmonary disease prevention, and public health awareness.
- Collaborate with healthcare organizations and professional bodies to support community engagement and service-learning activities.
Requirements
- Master's degree or PhD in Respiratory Therapy or a closely related discipline.
- Valid professional classification and registration with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) or eligibility for registration.
Experience
- Teaching experience in higher education is preferred.
- Clinical experience in Respiratory Therapy, critical care, emergency care, or pulmonary medicine.
- Experience in research, curriculum development, and academic reporting is preferred.
- Experience with simulation-based education is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
