Key Responsibilities:
The purpose of the position is to manage, operate, and optimize the university-wide Access Layer and Wi-Fi infrastructure, ensuring seamless connectivity for end-users across academic, administrative, and residential facilities. The role covers multi-brand access switches (Ruijie, H3C, Cisco, Huawei L2 manageable switches) and Huawei Wi-Fi 5 & Wi-Fi 7 technologies. The engineer ensures high availability, secure access, and performance optimization of access networks, supports wireless expansion projects, and contributes to ICT governance, compliance, and digital transformation initiatives.
Access Layer Operations
- Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot multi-brand L2 switches (Ruijie, H3C, Cisco, Huawei).
- Implement VLANs, trunking, port security, and access policies.
- Maintain redundancy and failover mechanisms at the access layer.
Wi-Fi Network Management
- Deploy, configure, and optimize Huawei Wi-Fi 5 and Wi-Fi 7 APs and controllers.
- Ensure seamless roaming, load balancing, and interference mitigation.
- Implement SSID segmentation, authentication policies, and guest access solutions.
Security & Compliance
- Enforce access control, NAC policies, and endpoint compliance.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams for Wi-Fi secure onboarding.
Monitoring & Performance
- Track KPIs such as uptime, throughput, latency, and user density.
- Conduct periodic audits and performance tuning.
Documentation & Standards
- Maintain updated network diagrams, configurations, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides.
- Document Wi-Fi coverage maps, AP inventories, and firmware baselines.
Project & Vendor Management
- Assist in vendor coordination, procurement specifications, and RFP evaluations.
- Support rollout of new Wi-Fi technologies and access layer upgrades.
Team Collaboration
- Provide technical support to NOC and helpdesk teams.
- Train junior staff on access and Wi-Fi troubleshooting.

Technical Skills:
· Strong grip on Huawei Wi-Fi controllers and APs.
· Familiarity with Ruijie, H3C, Cisco, Huawei L2 switches.
· Knowledge of VLANs, NAC, and endpoint security.
· CLI + scripting for automation.
· Strong understanding of IPV4 & IPv6 planning

Experience:
Essential Experience
Hands-on experience with multi-brand L2 switches (Ruijie, H3C, Cisco, Huawei). Practical expertise in VLANs, trunking, and access security. Experience managing Huawei Wi-Fi 5/7 controllers and APs. Knowledge of Wi-Fi optimization, roaming, and interference mitigation. Experience in NAC, endpoint compliance, and secure onboarding. Exposure to monitoring tools and performance baselines.
Desirable Experience
Experience in large-scale campus access network and Wi-Fi deployments.
