Role Overview:
Applications are invited for a one-year Fellowship in Interventional Radiology with major streams covering Vascular and non-vascular Interventional Radiology. The programme is based in the Radiology Department at SKM and is supervised by our team of trained interventional radiologists. The individuals who have successfully completed their training in Radiology and passed FCPS examination are welcome to apply. The programme is designed to train the fellow in preoperative assessment, develop skills in a wide range of interventional vascular and non-vascular procedures and immediate post-operative care. We have state of the interventional suites including the brand new Toshiba Infinix C Arm unit with 56 Inch digital flat panel multifunction monitor installed in our main interventional suite. There is dedicated 3 bedded recovery room for immediate post interventional care. The 2nd interventional suite is used for less complicated procedures mostly and as a backup facility time to time. We also have mobile C Arm units to facilitate any joint interventional procedure in theatre, The Hospital Information System and Radiology Information System (RIS) rely on PACS in our filmless department. We have excellent Research facilities with an excellent working environment to promote Research. We are going to launch our own Journal of Cancer and Allied Specialties in near future.
Job Description:
- The selected individual is expected to provide clinical service in Vascular and non-vascular Interventional Radiology.
- Learn pre- and post-procedural care in addition to procedural skills and provide on-going support and consultation to clinical services.
- The selected candidate will also participate in reporting cross sectional imaging and actively participate in the MDTs covering a wide range of interventional work in Adult and Pediatric oncological case mix and our most diverse GI & HCC MDTs.
- The successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to clinical excellence and research.
- One peer review publication during this year would be essential.
Eligibility / Qualification Required:
- MBBS
- FCPS or equivalent in Radiology (essential)
- Valid PMDC registration (essential)
- Previous research experience (desirable)
