Role Overview:
This is a post for a highly motivated and committed individual to undertake a key role as Consultant Colorectal Surgeon in Surgical Oncology. The post is based at one of the Hospitals of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust.
The appointee is expected to strengthen and lead site-specialized colorectal cancer services while delivering exceptional patient care within a multidisciplinary oncology environment. Collaborate closely with Medical, Radiation and Clinical Oncologists, Anesthetists, Hospitalists and Allied Healthcare Professionals to provide world-class surgical care. Drive clinical excellence by developing treatment pathways, supporting quality assurance, participating in clinical governance, risk management, audits and contributing to emergency and on-call surgical services. Play a key role in teaching and mentoring Surgical Oncology and General Surgery trainees, medical students, nurses, and postgraduate professionals while fostering a culture of continuous learning. Advance cancer care through active involvement in clinical research, national and international trials, and innovation in Surgical Oncology. Eligibility / Qualification Required:
- FCPS / FRCS / American Board certified with sub-specialty training in colorectal surgery.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Effective time management.
- Understanding of the effect of decisions on human and financial resources.
- Good leadership and organizational skills.
